While riding in our 1929 Model A Ford truck on a little dirt backroad north of the Llano River, near Castell, Texas, I shot the photo for this painting out the window, going 20 mph around a corner…not knowing if I captured it or not. I knew when I saw the image later that I wanted to paint it.
This still life depicts an antique scene of a train Ride to Dublin, Ireland. You can imagine the gentleman who is sitting in this train car. His top hat is perched on top of his little case luggage and his pipe and pocket watch on the table. A stein is filled with a Guinness!

One of my favorite places to paint is Mackinac Island, Michigan. This scene depicts visitors riding in a carriage pulled by a beautiful team of white horses up to the famous Grand Hotel. I added a vintage couple on the park bench in the back to make it seem like a scene form Somewhere in Time.
